Planning exists to control new development so that it takes place in accordance with the Adopted Development Plan for the area and other land use based policies of the Council and Government. Development includes both building work and changes of use.
The purpose of this website is to allow the users to access Planning Data held by the Council. To search for an application that may interest you, please use the link Planning Applications. This facility enables you to search by reference number, applicant name, ward or parish and between specific dates. If the application has not been decided you can make comments direct to the Development Control Team.
You can view the results of the last Development Control Committee by clicking on the Committee Information.
This website includes a Planning News section that includes major developments that are being considered by the Council and other current items of interest.
The site also includes links to the Development Plan and Supplementary Planning Guidance.
Thinking of submitting an application? You can Apply Online. Before submitting an application it is advisable to contact a member of the Development Control Team to discuss your proposal. You can request to have application forms sent out.
